Um…if you used your current approach on me, it would still sound like nagging. May I suggest you do something more subtle? For example, when I saw my daughter making small purchases that undermined her larger goals, I suggested she cut out photos representing her big goals and post them on her bathroom mirror she was in college at the time. I never said one word about her smaller purchases, but they stopped. I got her to reinforce her own goals without ever nagging—she just saw those goals represented and they did all the reinforcement she needed.
